Real Estate Agent Magazine sat down with Vince Soreiro of PropertyShark to discuss his career and his aspirations for the future. 

REAM: What first drew you to the real estate industry?

 Soriero: I was influenced from a young age working within the family businesses, including real estate owned properties. Real Estate has been in my DNA from the very beginning and I’ve always been fascinated in the diversity of this business.

REAM: Who are your real estate mentors? How do you seek to emulate them?

 Soriero: My mentors are those professionals I’ve surrounded myself with, and I believe everyone becomes a mentor in some capacity. We all have something to teach and new to learn, which ultimately helped shape me into the salesperson I am today.

REAM: What drew you to your current real estate team? What were you looking for?

 Soriero: What drew me into my career was my fascination within real estate, so when the opportunity presented itself to sell real estate data, PropertyShark was the perfect fit! PropertyShark is the industry leader for residential and commercial property research data in New York City with a National presence.

REAM: Tell us a little about PropertyShark.

 Soriero: Yardi Systems owned subsidiary PropertyShark.com, founded in 2003, triggered a phenomenon within our industry, revolutionizing the way brokers and agents researched property data in a reliable single source format. The comprehensive online subscription service provides reliable real estate information in New York City and 900-plus counties nationwide. We’ve helped our partner brokerages provide agent intelligence and effectiveness, which includes over 100 million properties – both commercial and residential – and is used religiously by broker/agents, insurance companies, lenders, investors, developers, appraisers, title agencies, attorneys and so on.

The culture of our company is truly an amazing one, and I am thrilled to work with such articulate and talented colleagues and leadership. There is absolutely nothing that I don’t enjoy about my career. I am very passionate and enjoy what I do.

REAM: What is one of the greatest challenges you face daily? How do you overcome it?

 Soriero: My biggest challenge is trying to achieve greater results and advancements each and every day.

REAM: What career goals do you have for the next five years? The next 10?

 Soriero: Within the next five to 10 years, I plan to work alongside my team of experts to advance our product, knowledge base, expand our brand exposure, accelerate revenues and broaden PropertyShark into other markets.

REAM: Are there any changes coming in the future that you’re excited to announce?

 Soriero: We just launched our new Platinum Real Owners & Contact Numbers behind LLC owned properties, Comparable Sales and Canvassing Tool, which has sparked high demand with our user base.

REAM: What are some of your hobbies outside of the office?

 Soriero: Some of my outside interests include entertaining, music, spending time with friends and family, as well as a day on the golf course.
