Real Estate Agent Magazine Publisher Judith Dickson sat down with Erin Hull of Bain Real Estate to discuss her real estate career and goals she has for the future.

REAM: Why did you decide to follow a career in real estate?

EH:  I’ve always loved real estate, in my early 20’s is when I really started getting into it. Always watching the market to see what’s new, what’s sold, what houses went off the market and came back on with a face lift a few months later, it just fascinated me. I wish I had gotten my license sooner but am happy to have it now.

REAM: As a young professional what is one of the challenges you face in the industry? How do you overcome them?

EH: One of the biggest challenges in today’s market is the inventory being low is finding a home for my buyer clients. Right now, it’s a waiting game to see what comes on from the day to day and inform my clients as soon as I see something that may interest them.

REAM: What perspective does the younger generation bring to real estate? How can clients benefit?

EH: Technology, since the covid pandemic I have been using zoom like crazy! Knowing that you are able to work from a home office is very convenient. I feel a lot of people like to use the virtual showings if they cannot physically come to see a property.

REAM What do you enjoy most about your day to day?

EH: I love the interactions with all the different people I talk to. You never know where a conversation may lead. I had a woman call me off of zillow and come to find out she used to live in the same town I grew up in. It was pretty cool to have that connection having never met or spoken to this woman before.

REAM What career goals do you have for the next 5 years? The next 10? Where do you see the peak of your career?

EH: I hope that in the next 5-10 years I can be recognized as a top agent in the Litchfeild county area that works hard for her clients and has gained the respect of her peers. They say the first year is the hardest, so I hope by the time I hit the 5-year mark I am hitting my peak and just keep going from there.

REAM What are some of your hobbies outside the office?

EH: In the winter you can find me on my snowboard out on the slopes, from the east coast to the west coast it’s my all-time favorite thing to do. I am huge into outdoor activities, hiking, kayaking, fishing, and archery. I have a love for the outdoors!
