Let’s begin!
1) Become a Realtor
If you like the idea of working in the real estate industry, one option you might want to consider is working as a realtor.
Working as a realtor is a great option for people that enjoy ‘sales’ roles. Additionally, one of the good things about working as a realtor is that you don’t face a cap on how much you can earn.
That’s because you’re usually paid a base salary, alongside a commission. The amount of commission you earn depends on the number of houses you sell and the value of these houses.
Thus, if you become a really good realtor, you might make a substantial amount of money from commissions.
2) Become a Surveyor
If you want to work in real estate, there’s also the option of becoming a ‘surveyor.’
A surveyor is typically someone that inspects properties to make sure they are fit for purpose.
So they will look at the structural integrity of the property to make sure the building is structurally sound. They might also check for any dangerous substances, such as asbestos.
There are many different kinds of surveyors, and so if you go down this route, there are lots of paths to choose from. For instance, you can become a surveyor for commercial properties, or you can just focus on residential properties.
3) Flip Properties
Aside from everything else we’ve mentioned in this post, there’s also the option of becoming a ‘property flipper.’
A property flipper is essentially someone that buys dilapidated properties, fixes them up, and then sells them for a profit. This path can be very lucrative, and if you go down this route, you might be able to become a ‘real estate tycoon.’
Of course, becoming a real estate tycoon does come with certain downsides, and if you’d like to learn more about these issues, you can read more here.
