Randy Kellogg Named Twin Cities Real Estate Agent of the Month

TWIN CITIES (Sept. 29, 2016) – Real Estate Agent Magazine Twin Cities is pleased to announce that Randy Kellogg was named Real Estate Agent of the Month for September 2016.

Many REALTORS® will say that “it’s more than the sale,” that makes their work so meaningful to them, but Randy Kellogg of Edina Realty goes above and beyond to define that. As a native of Hopkins, Minnesota, Kellogg knows all the ins and outs of the local community. Despite his start in the corporate world, Kellogg wanted a career that offered more interaction with people. With a passion for helping people and houses, he opted to pursue a career in real estate. Before settling into the household name of Edina Realty, he approached it a little differently than the other brokerages: he interviewed at both the Chanhassen and Eden offices.

“Edina Realty had a family feel and there were absolutely no egos,” Kellogg says. “Both traits were important factors in my decision to join Edina.”

Fifteen years later, Kellogg now has a partner, Dan Trudeau and assistant, Laura Michel who aid in maintaining Kellogg’s successful real estate team. Reflecting on his early year in the real estate realm, Kellogg reminisces his painfully shy demeanor.

“My office administrator, Leah, still laughs about the day I set up my voicemail during my first week,” Kellogg says. “I was mortified to record my greeting in front of her – I just couldn’t get it right!”

His shyness actually helped push him outside of his comfort zone as he would spend most of his time working at the office after hours when all the seasoned REALTORS® had gone home. Kellogg quickly realized how lonely the real estate industry is when an agent fails to build a connection with other agents.

“I am still working out of the same office I started in,” Kellogg says. “I love the culture and colleagues that work here. It feels like home.”
