Wildflower to Open in Early Summer at Desert Viking’s Crown on 7th Property

Wildflower (formerly Wildflower Bread Company), headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ, will be opening its 16th restaurant in early summer in the historic Crown on 7th re-purposed 1950s building that is managed by Arizona-based Desert Viking Development and DWG Phoenix, LLC. The Central Phoenix infill project is located on 7th Street, between Missouri Avenue and Bethany Home Road.

Darren George, VP of development for Wildflower, says they’ve wanted to be a part of this neighborhood for quite some time. “Our core purpose is becoming part of and giving back to the communities where we operate. At Crown on 7th, we saw an opportunity to provide healthy and heightened comfort food for breakfast, lunch and dinner in a family-friendly atmosphere at an affordable price point while also employing people from the neighborhood.”

Wildflower prides itself on building each location as a reflection of its new neighborhood. George says this will be Wildflower’s most urban valley location so far, and they were excited to build a restaurant that fits this special neighborhood. The Wildflower design team focused on creating a vibrant environment that elevated the existing Wildflower brand to a whole new level, centered around the social aspect of dining.

Niels Kreipke, owner of Desert Viking Development and partner in the project, is excited that Crown on 7th will offer the community a destination. “We felt the neighborhood needed a healthy, quality and quick dining alternative with three meals a day, including a spot to grab coffee or a nice breakfast in the mornings,” Kreipke said.

Kreipke continued, “Wildflower has a proven track record and a wealth of experience that elevates the mix of exciting restaurants already in place along 7th Street from Missouri up to Bethany Home.”

This restaurant’s award-winning lunch and dinner menu will be fused with soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta dishes, handcrafted artisan breads, and delicious cakes and pies for dessert. Homestyle breakfast at Wildflower includes nutritional breakfast bowls, egg sandwiches, frittatas, brioche French toast, signature pancakes, freshly baked bagels, muffins and scones, plus lighter fare such as yogurt parfait or steel cut oatmeal. Freshly brewed coffee, cappuccino, and latte creations round out the morning mix. Breakfast will be served weekdays until 10:30 a.m. and weekends until 2:00 p.m.

The Crown on 7th menu will remain the same as other locations in and around Phoenix, but this location will also offer local craft beers and a full array of red, white and sparkling wines. This Wildflower will also be introducing a completely new kitchen design that will enable patrons to see the creation of the delectable dishes in action.

The restaurant will also deliver deliciousness to your home or business with bountiful breakfasts, luscious lunches, delish dinners, decadent desserts, and satisfying snacks.

Wildflower’s success has been attributed to premium quality food, affordable everyday pricing, fast and efficient service, and a clean, inviting environment. Their atmosphere is expected to be warm, comfortable, fresh, and contemporary.

Owner of DWG Phoenix, LLC and co-partner in the project, Buzz Gosnell, says Wildflower adds the perfect mix to the Crown on 7th. “We were seeking a restaurant concept that complements the existing tenants rather than competes. Simultaneously, Wildflower addresses the needs of the other tenants and their employees. It’s a win-win.”

Desert Viking has transformed the former Crown imports building into a thriving Phoenix neighborhood hub housing specialty retailers and unique dining concepts.

Crown on 7th is currently home to food and beverage favorites such as Phoenix Ale Brewery Central Kitchen, Pubblico Italian Eatery, The Womack Cocktail Lounge, and Rito’s Mexican Food (opening this summer). In addition, Crown on 7th features “Shop and Primp” retailers like The Local Barber and Shop, The Root Salon, The Village Eye Works, and exercise salon TenPoint5 Barre Studio.
