Think Real Estate, Think the DiNofa Team

Devin DiNofa thinks big! So big, in fact, that others have taken notice. This go-getter REALTOR was recently named by the SNJ Business People publication as one of 40 under 40, an esteemed award recognizing professionals “making waves in their lines of work.” But DiNofa is not one to rest on his laurels; nor take a breather from cold calling, door knocking or networking. “Being a REALTOR is 24/7,” he said. “It’s not a job; it’s a way of life.”

Part of a 15-member team with Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc., DiNofa is licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He started selling real estate in 2011. “In my first full year, I closed about $2 million from 12 transactions. I took all of my earnings and rehabbed a house in South Philly.”

Suffice it to say, after that investment, he pounded the pavement even harder. In 2015, his sales were close to $5 million.

“My goal is to double my earnings each year,” said DiNofa who shares that home with fiancee, Brittany Roosa.

His track record is clearly a result of enthusiasm, hard work and never giving up – attributes that define DiNofa. “When I set my mind to do something, it will be done,” said this agent who calls his broker/manager Jason Gareau a role model and mentor in every sense imaginable.

“I let people see the real me. When you’re real with clients, they love you even more. They know I’m always there for them, always reachable.”

DiNofa says he studies successful people and loves coaching real estate agents. He works mainly out of Long & Foster’s Medford office. Yet in this industry, the action is in the field, where DiNofa has made a name for himself. He can be found throughout South Jersey, in Camden and Burlington counties as well as Center City and South Philly. That’s not to say he wouldn’t race to the shore if asked to be the listing agent for a home. DiNofa is out there – placing door hangers, hosting open houses, showing listings. Not a day goes by that this rising agent doesn’t post something on social media – Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram – a tool that has proven powerful. He’s equally at home at business networking events throughout the region.

“What you see is what you get,” explained DiNofa of his no-nonsense style. “People know I will work my butt off for them. It’s my service and work ethic that attracts clients and my strength in dealing with all types of people.”

“I love what I do,” continued DiNofa, who views himself as more than a REALTOR , rather a real estate brand. That brand, which he built with a passion, has transitioned to include his fiancee.

Roosa, an X-ray technician, was so enamored with DiNofa’s independent lifestyle; she not only fell in love with the guy, but the industry as well. She recently obtained her New Jersey license; the two are now a team – personally and professionally.

In keeping with his “thinking big” motto, DiNofa shares his memorable marriage proposal. “I rented out Lincoln Financial Field. I blindfolded Brittany and walked her onto the field.” After removing the blindfold, a video appeared on the large screen, with music and a photo montage of the couple. The finale … the words “Will you marry me?” across the screen. When Roosa said yes, she turned to find family and friends cheering in the stands. They are planning a November destination wedding in Punta Cana and a honeymoon in Bora Bora.

It comes as no surprise that this self made guy is inspired by motivational speakers. He listens to them daily on audio books and online videos. Top inspirations include Eric Thomas and Les Brown.

What makes DiNofa tick? “I love helping people,” he said. “It’s the best feeling.” True, it’s incredible to find a client their dream home and walk away with a generous commission. And admittedly, he has expensive taste. Yet for DiNofa, when a client expresses genuine gratitude, it strikes an inner chord. He gets the same type of charge by giving back to the community.

He’s on the fundraising board of the YMCA, supports the Make a Wish Foundation and organizes community turkey drives and coat drives annually. DiNofa along with his nonprofit mentor assisted with an effort to donate 10,000 bottles of water to Flint, Michigan.

DiNofa’s segue to the profession was an evolution of sorts. “I look at my life as having multiple chapters. I have learned from each one,” said DiNofa, who plans to write a book on the topic.

DiNofa came from modest means. “I’m from a blue-collar, working class family,” he said. Born in South Philly. Just before high school, they relocated to Maple Shade where DiNofa played on the football team. Sports and staying fit remain high priorities. After graduation, DiNofa worked his way up to become a restaurant manager; he was also a bartender and managing director and account executive at Farmers Insurance LLC. DiNofa still sells insurance.

While tending bar, he became intrigued with the million-dollar homes he saw on television. He enrolled in real estate school. “I was making 50 to 60 cold calls a day,” remembered DiNofa of his job at Farmers. He realized he could be working that hard in his own business.

“I want to break records,” said DiNofa, whose long-range goal is to become a sales coach and motivational speaker. “When you think exercise, you think Nike. When people think real estate, I want them to think the DiNofa Team.”
